“Marriage is important – reflect before you change it” All of us know marriage is fundamental to the wellbeing and flourishing of society in every nation all over the world. For this reason there is a great need for everyone in Ireland to reflect deeply on the issues involved in the upcoming Referendum on May 22nd. As I see it, the most serious issue involved is that the Referendum seeks to totally redefine marriage. Let us all reflect deeply on the Irish Bishop’s Statement. Where will marriage be in Irish society in two generations time?
Please do everything you can to encourage full calm debate of all the issues involved. Avoid speaking in a way that is offensive or hurtful of anybody. May God bless all homes, families, couples and marriages.
