Season of Creation 2023

The Season of Creation is marked throughout the Christian world from 1 September to 4 October (Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi) and celebrates the gift and beauty of God’s creation and encourages initiatives to protect our Common Home.

This year’s theme “Let Justice and Peace Flow” is inspired by the Prophet Amos:  “Let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!” (Amos 5: 24).

As Christians we are called to join the river of justice and peace, to take up climate and ecological justice, and to speak out with and for communities most impacted by climate injustice and the loss of biodiversity.

What Can Your Parish Do?

We hope that the following resources will help you and your parish community to celebrate the Season of Creation 2023  and consider how your parish will take action towards returning 30% of church grounds to nature by 2030.

Host one or more of these actions during the Season of Creation at a time that suits your parish.

Introduce the theme to your liturgies: Sunday Liturgy Notes

Read and circulate this years Season of Creation Leaflet in order to create awareness:
