I express my sorrow and sadness at the sudden unexpected death of Fr Gearóid O’Donoghue. He had recently been in hospital and seriously ill. He was in good health and was able to again celebrate Masses this weekend for the people of Spa parish who gave him a great welcome.
Sincere sympathy to all his family, all the people of Fenit and Churchhill, and all his priest colleagues. Thank God for his life-long ministry as a priest. May life everlasting be his, with St. Brendan, all the saints and all our loved ones who have died. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam uasal.
