Tobar Mhuire, Duagh

Tobar Mhuire – Springmount, Duagh in the grounds of Duagh Cemetery.

A place of pilgrimage around a Holy Well – named after Our Lady. The well was associated a place of prayer for curing sore eyes by rubbing the Water from the well and dates back to the 1500’s as the old church in Duagh are adjacent to it. It is named on the Ordinance Survey map of 1845. It is built on a mount surrounded by trees and a lovely path where people can do rounds to pray the rosary. It is used regularly and in particularly during the month of May.
