Would you like to become a Spirit Youth Leader?

The Diocese of Kerry are offering a 12 week training course in Spirit Youth Leadership in February 2027.

Spirit is a dynamic, exciting and motivational personal development programme aimed at young people aged 15-18 years of age. The programme places emphasis on strengthening friendships, building of confidence, trust and self-confidence, al qualities necessary for our young people even more so today than ever.

The Diocese of Kerry is offering a unique training opportunity for teachers, chaplains, clergy or lay people who wish to expand their skills in the area of youth and be trained to deliver value based exercises in a fun, active and meaningful way. This course is ideal for people who would like to bring something new for young people into their parish. These exercises are tried and tested over 30 years with great results.

The following Facilitation Modules will be covered:

• Basic Facilitation and Group Work Skills
• Icebreakers and peer friendship games
• Interpersonal Communication Techniques
• Observation and Assertiveness Techniques
• Positive Self-Image
• Relationships and Coping Mechanisms
• Peer Trust and Support
• Personal Space
• Me, myself and God.
