The Spirit Youth Group programme is a dynamic, exciting and motivational personal and spiritual development programme aimed at young
people aged 15-18 years of age. The programme places emphasis on strengthening friendships, building of trust and self-confidence, all qualities necessary for our young people, even more so today, than ever.
The Diocese of Kerry is delighted to launch this faith, fun, food and friendship filled youth group which provides the necessary space for our young people to value life, value themselves and value each other in a meaningful way.
Currently 21 people representing six parishes in the Diocese are being trained to set up these youth groups in their own parishes from July onwards. Young people can look forward to experiencing:
- Icebreakers and peer friendship games
- Interpersonal Communication Techniques
- Observation and Assertiveness Techniques
- Positive Self-Image
- Relationships and Coping Mechanisms
- Peer Trust and Support
- Personal Space
- Me, myself and God.
- Pope John Paul II Awards Programme
- Pilgrimages, trips and a lot of fun thrown in!
The plan is to continue training Spirit Leaders throughout the Diocese of Kerry and provide these wonderful opportunities for our young people within their own parishes.

If you would like the Spirit programme to run in your parish or would like to train as a Youth Leader please contact:
