Preparing for Lent 2018

Calling all liturgy groups! As we approach the World Meeting of Families to be held in Dublin this August, Lent offers us a special time to grow in love as families, within our parish which is really a family of families!

Lent invites us to draw more closely to Jesus Christ and as we see more closely what he does, love him more dearly, we might follow him more nearly day by day in our lives. Family life offers us the place where we practise our love of God by the way we show love to one another….and love is patient, love is kind, love is not envious, boastful, arrogant or rude, love is not irritable or resentful, nor does love rejoice in wrongdoing, but rather love always rejoices in the truth. Love endures all things.

This Lent, let’s fast from all that is not love, let us pray for our families, especially those we find most difficult to get on with, or love, and let us give our hearts, our time and our patience to one another.
