World Youth Day Pilgrimage

Welcome back from Madrid

World Youth Day and the week of events was a powerful experience for over 30 young people from our diocese. The week was full of joy and provided an opportunity to celebrate and share our faith. The group from Kerry diocese joined with over a million pilgrims from all parts of the world to welcome Pope Benedict XVI to Madrid. They joined the catechesis sessions, and took part in the Stations of the Cross and the pilgrimage walk and overnight vigil under the stars.

In the Pope's own words :“Thank you young people, you rejuvenate the Pope, inspire the Church and refresh a world thirsty for hope and courage. The Pope thanks you for your affection and sends you out as ambassadors of the joy that our World needs”.
