Effective Communications

Goal:

To develop and implement a strategy that facilitates clear communication for the diocese

Objectives:

1. Develop and promote the use of technology to enhance communications at parish, pastoral area and diocesan level;
2. Develop effective communications between pastoral ministry groups and parishes;
3. Design and maintain a user-friendly website to provide news, information and resources;
4. Develop effective communications between diocesan office and parish personnel;
5. Provide training in communications for clergy, diocesan and parish personnel;
6. Develop a clear strategy for media relations and communications;
7. Provide diocesan materials and resources in Irish, and in other languages, as appropriate.

Key Outcomes:

• Enhanced use of technology at all levels throughout the diocese;
• Enhanced usage of the diocesan website;
• Communication training and resources available to clergy, parish and diocesan personnel;
• Effective communications between diocesan office and parish personnel;
• Effective communications at diocesan, pastoral area and parish level;
• Strategy for media relations in place;
• Diocesan resource materials available in Irish.
