February 11th - World Day of Prayer for the Sick
Since 1992, February 11, the memorial of Our Lady of Lourdes, has also been observed as the World Day of Prayer for the Sick, also known as World Day of the Sick. Pope John Paul II, in his letter instituting this day, stated that it should be, “… a special time of prayer and sharing, of offering one’s suffering for the good of the Church and of reminding us to see in our sick brother and sister the face of Christ who, by suffering, dying and rising, achieved the salvation of humankind.”
Parishes are encouraged to include prayers for the sick and those who care for them in the Prayer of the Faithful.

Veritas has produced a very readable version of the Gospel, that also includes how to pray with the Scriptures, a method known as lectio divina.
