Successful Ceiliúradh na nÓg Event in Tralee

The Diocese hosted a very successful Ceiliúradh na nOg event on Wednesday, April 20th in the Brandon Hotel, Tralee.  Over 350 students from schools spanning the diocese attended faith-based workshops, fun workshops with the KDYS and a keynote address by Dr. Dan O’ Connell from Mary Immaculate College Limerick.  The students were also presented with a certificate of participation by Bishop Ray Browne.

Dan’s talk concentrated on the theme of the new diocesan plan; Be Christ’s Joy.  Dan highlighted that:

‘In order to ‘Be Christ’s Joy’ in and to the world, we need to notice joy in our lives.  Joy is not to be equated with happiness or satisfaction.  Rather, it has something to do with noticing our own goodness and responding to the restlessness within our own hearts and to the wounds in the world.  It also asks that we notice the joy in God’s heart – for each one of us, we are a source of joy for God.’

Many thanks to all the students and teachers for attending the event.
