Kerry Camino

Our recent 3 day guided walk of the Dingle Way (Tralee/Camp/Annascaul/Dingle) was a great success, and enjoyed by all who travelled from near and far to participate.  As secretary for the Kerry Camino I have put together this short report – Adrienne McLoughlin.

Our 4th annual three day walk of the Dingle Way, (Tralee – Camp – Annascaul – Dingle) took place on the May Bank Holiday Weekend.  A registration and information evening was held at the Grand Hotel on Friday 1st May.  That evening we had 37 registrations, of which 20 were for the full weekend.  This year, walkers came from all over Ireland and one from England.  By the time of departure on Saturday morning from St. Johns Church, Tralee our numbers had increased to 50.

Our first day’s journey took the following route: Town Park, Denny Street, Princes Quay, Canal Bank Walk, Blennerville, Tonevane and across the Sliabh Mish Mountains  via Curraheen, Derrymore, Killelton and coming off the Dingle Way trail to Lower Camp, where the tired but happy group enjoyed the hospitality and refreshments at Mick O’Neill’s Railway Tavern.
